What Makes MO Pilates Different?

MO Pilates stands out in Bristol for its refreshingly direct approach to Reformer Pilates. Unlike other studios that offer a one-size-fits-all model, MO offers two distinct signature class styles:

CoreForm

This is our signature dynamic Reformer Pilates class that’s accessible for all levels — including complete beginners. CoreForm brings together everything people love about Pilates: movements that improve posture, strengthen the core, and enhance control, balance, and body awareness. It’s about building strength from the inside out, while moving with intention and flow.

FitForm

This is for those who want to sweat a little more. FitForm blends the best of Pilates and fitness into a powerful, athletic workout. Expect to feel stronger, more defined, and energised. It’s a great option if you want a full-body challenge that also builds long-term resilience and tone.

Reformer Pilates in Bristol - What to Expect

What to expect at your first Reformer Pilates Class

What to Expect at Your First Reformer Pilates Class at MO

If you're new to Reformer Pilates, it's totally normal to feel a bit nervous — everyone does when trying something for the first time. Maybe you're wondering if you'll know what to do, whether everyone else will be more advanced, or if you'll feel out of place. We get it — and that's exactly why we've designed your first experience at MO to be welcoming, supportive, and actually helpful.

First things first: It's okay not to know everything No one expects you to be perfect on your first go — and we certainly don't. That's exactly why our intro offer includes multiple classes. It usually takes about three sessions to really get comfortable with the Reformer, build confidence, and start to enjoy all the benefits. So stick with it — your confidence will grow quickly.

Before Class: Arrival & Check-In You'll receive a welcome email with everything you need to know, plus a friendly text reminder before your first session. You can reply to ask any questions.

Please arrive 10 minutes early for your first class so we can check you in and do a quick induction.

Check in at the kiosk, then say hi to your instructor — they'll likely know it's your first time but please introduce yourself anyway.

The instructor will show you how to use the Reformer, explain the class flow, and check in with you about any injuries or concerns so they can tailor the class to your needs.

What to Wear & Bring Grip socks are required — these help with safety and hygiene. You can bring your own or buy them at the studio. (No socks, no class. We're serious about this one.)

Wear fitted, comfortable activewear (think leggings and a top you can move in). Avoid baggy clothing that gets caught in the equipment.

Tie long hair back and remove jewellery to avoid snags.

Bring a water bottle, and a small towel if you like — but most importantly, just bring yourself and your willingness to try something new

The Class Structure Each class is 50 minutes and includes:

A warm-up to connect with your core and breath

A full-body workout including moves like planks, lunges, and arm work

A cool-down to finish feeling balanced and strong

Our Coreform classes are all-level and beginner-friendly. Every exercise begins with a Level 1 option. From there, you'll be offered Level 2 or Level 3 progressions if and when you're ready. You're always in control of what feels good for your body.

Instructor Support Instructors may offer hands-on guidance to help you with alignment, but will always ask your permission first.

You can always wave for help if you're unsure about an exercise — our instructors are knowledgeable, supportive, and actually here for you.

With just 12 people per class, we make sure everyone gets personal attention.

If you have any injuries or health conditions, please let us know before class. We can easily offer modifications to help you move safely and confidently.

Intensity, Soreness & Recovery You can absolutely go at your own pace. Need to pause? That's fine. Want to stick with Level 1 all the way through? Totally valid.

You may feel a little sore after your first class, especially if it's been a while since you exercised — that's completely normal and just means your muscles are waking up! Over time, your body will adapt, and that soreness will reduce as your strength increases.

The best part? Reformer Pilates is low-impact and joint-friendly, so you can attend multiple sessions a week without overtraining. It's also the perfect complement to other workouts like lifting, running, or cycling — helping you recover faster and move better.

You’ll Leave Feeling Strong, Not Broken

After your first class, you’ll feel like you’ve had a full-body workout — but not in a punishing way. Our goal is to have you leave the studio feeling energised, accomplished, and wanting to come back.
